Second volume of an Amsterdam edition of the Hebrew Pentateuch, based on a version of the Amsterdam edition of 5486 [1726], revised by Rabbi Jeudah Haim Piza (1703-1785. It was intended primarily for the Portuguese-speaking Sephardic community in the Netherlands, and in particular to provide model texts for the scribe who wrote the Torah scrolls. This edition is much rarer than the 1726 edition. It is this edition that is the most authoritative in the Portuguese rite communities, particularly with regard to the ordering of the Pentateuch's pericopes (parashiot).
