In-8, [32], 462 pp. Text in Hebrew and Latin. Bound in full vellum, title in ink on spine. Some loss, some browning of text, minor worm work, else a good copy (Smitskamp PO 163).
Second enlarged edition of a work first published in 1610 by Buxtorf the elder, comprising a correspondence manual for writing letters in Hebrew. The work of the two John Buxtorfs, father and son, who succeeded each other as professors of Hebrew in Basel. Provenance: Symeon de Muis Aurelianensis (handwritten note on title): Siméon Marotte de Muis, a Hebraic scholar born in Orléans in 1587, became canon and archdeacon of Soissons. In 1604, the king appointed him to the chair of Hebrew at the Collège Royal. He died in 1644, the author of numerous works.
