Emperor Napoleon I's handkerchief. In white batiste, hemmed and embroidered with the numeral "N" in one corner. 70 x 70 cm First Empire period. B.E. (Small rust stains). Provenance: Glain Collection 1st sale, Angers (Maître Martin), November 23, 1980, lot 392. It is noted that this handkerchief from St. Helena is said to have come from Bertrand's souvenirs given to Count Doumerc (1765-1847), colonel of cuirassiers and then division general in 1810.
