Rare flag eagle model 1815.
Gilt bronze, holding a spindle in one of its talons.
Mounted on a casing with foliate decoration and a socket circa 1830.
Dimensions: 38.5 x 22 cm
A.B.E. (Re-gilded, spindle probably reassembled upside down when the box was added in 1830). First Empire period.

"Aigle régimentaire modèle 1815. Dismantled from its caisson in 1815, this eagle was probably reassembled after 1830 in a National Guard caisson. It has been re-gilded and the thunderbolt reassembled upside down.
- Pierre CHARRIE also refers to this eagle as an 1815 model:
"Une aigle remontée sur un caisson de Garde nationale 1830. Ex-collection Regnault."
