Girolamo FORABOSCO (Venice 1605 - Padua 1679) Portrait of a three-quarter-length woman with necklace Canvas 63.8 x 52.5 cm Inscribed in chalk on the reverse of the stretcher "N 93", "R1086/1" and a number in pen on an old label "120". (Old restorations) Provenance : Potzneusiedl Castle, Austria. The attribution has been confirmed by Ugo Ruggeri. He dates the painting to the early part of Forabosco's career, when he was still strongly inspired by Padovanino, and compares it with La Menichina in the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Antica in Rome (see R. Palluchini, La Pittura Veneziana del Seicento, Milan, 1981).
