Jacques-Émile BLANCHE (1861-1942). Autograph manuscript, L'h - Lot 4

Jacques-Émile BLANCHE (1861-1942). Autograph manuscript, L'heure qui passe - Psychose de saison, [1931]; 2pages in-fol. with erasures and corrections. In a "very chic modern apartment", Blanche talks to "a solitary intellectual" about her readings: Éducation de Princesse by the Grand Duchess Marie of Russia, and Ma Vie de Chagall: "Always current, close to me, will be the memories of an astonishing lyrical painter, child of the ghetto. I love Chagall's dreamlike canvases, the expressionist sketches that illustrate his childish yet faith-filled texts. Art and poetry will eternally triumph over Reason!"... The article appeared in Le Figaro on December 29, 1931, where the passage about Chagall has been removed.
