[LYON]. Arrêts et réglemens concernant La Manufacture & Fabrique des Bas, & autres Ouvrages de soie, laine, fil & cotton de la ville de Lyon. Lyon : imprimerie de J. J. Barbier, 1762. - In-8, 185 x 118 : 92 pp, (2 ff.). Marbled fawn basane, gilt fillet and gilt arms in the center of the boards, handwritten mention on the first board, ornate ribbed spine, red edges (period binding). Uncommon edition of the statutes of masters and workers in the art of silk stockings, followed by rulings and orders from 1676 to 1762 completing the regulations. A copy bearing the arms of the Brossier de La Roullière family. Originally from Touraine, the Brossier family settled in the Lyonnais and Dauphiné regions in the 17th century, where they owned the fiefs of Anthon and Vertrieu. Olivier, Hermal and de Roton list only one member of the family, Étienne-Alexandre Brossier, baron de La Roullière, captain commanding the Royal-Vaisseaux regiment, who took part in the assembly of the nobility in Lyon in 1789. Rare copy in contemporary armorial binding. An early owner added the words "Bas de Soye" in ink at the top of the first cover. Hinges and top cover restored. Provenance: André Trautmann, with bookplate.
