This ordinance, issued by the Council of Berne, regulates the use of precious stones, gold and silver fabrics, velvet, embroidery and lace, as well as mourning, competitions, dances, masquerades and disguises, games, etc. It is followed by a regulation on the use of the most expensive clothes in the world.
