MAGASIN DES DEMOISELLES. Paris: Magasin des Demoiselles, 1844-1877. - 32 volumes, large in-8, 265 x 175. Glazed blue half-calf with Romantic irons (5 volumes), then red half-chagrin with corners (23 volumes), smooth spines adorned with Romantic irons, 19 with the same decoration, then 4 volumes in green half-basane, smooth spines with gilt faux nerfs (period bindings). Rare compilation of the first 33 years of publication of this cultural and educational magazine for young women. Publication began in 1844 and ended in 1896. It includes hors-texte illustrations, including numerous color fashion figures. The year 1845 (volume one) covers the few months from the end of 1844, when the magazine began publication. This collection ends with the year 1877. Some plates are missing. Small wormholes in the spines of a few volumes, minor rubbing, restoration to a headband, a few centimeters of splitting at two jaws of one volume, some foxing.
