FLAIR. New York: Fleur Cowles, 1950-1952. - 12 volumes in-4, 333 x 245. Paperback, illustrated covers in color, and one in-4 volume (333 x 247), bound in the publisher's decorated red cloth, openwork window on first board. Set in three modern red cloth-covered slipcases decorated in imitation of the publisher's binding, with black box titles. Complete collection of this monthly magazine published from February 1950 to January 1951, totaling 12 issues. Abundantly illustrated with reproductions and photographs, including those by George Hoyningen-Huené, the magazine's layout was state-of-the-art. The cover illustration for each issue incorporated an element from the interior illustration, thanks to a special cut-out. René Gruau was one of the magazine's most regular illustrators. It featured designs by the great Parisian couturiers of the day. Publisher Fleur Cowles brought out a more thematic and universal volume, but just as artistic, entitled Flair annual 1953, "edited to be quite timeless... bound between enduring boards to be permanent...". Nice set. Rubbing to some spines, 10 leaves partially unclipped to no. 1, staples to last four issues, top cover torn a few centimeters but not missing.
