20th CENTURY SCHOOL Moroccan Jewess in her ceremonial dress, 1987 Six polychrome ceramic tiles mounted on panel. Signed HB and dated lower left. 61.5 x 41 cm This depiction of a Jewish woman in ceremonial dress or quesoua el kbira (large dress in Arabic) seems particularly faithful. The artist has succeeded in rendering the splendor of this garment, which many painters have tried to recreate.
