MARCHAK Tuberose brooch-clip in 18K (750) gold, the flowers set with round brilliant-cut diamonds, the leaves in molded glass. Signed and numbered. French work. Height: approx. 8 cm. Gross weight: 54.6 g This composition features the glass paste used here to represent the leaves. It was Gilbert Cauët at Marchak who revived the pâte de verre technique, long neglected in jewelry after its huge success in the early 20th century. He draws inspiration from the writings of Argy-Rousseau to understand the process, and then, little by little, creates his own creations. The large clip we offer today is typical of this research, which began in the late 1990s and resulted in some highly original jewelry. Marguerite de Cerval, Marchak, 2006, p. 20-21
