ÉMILE GALLÉ (1846-1904) Flight of butterflies among dahlias Diamond-shaped vase. Proof in multi-layered glass; the lower part treated in blood-red, the upper part in yellow ochre shaded with opaque white towards the center of the vase. The title decoration is treated with polychrome hard enamel on a background of acid-cleared floral motifs in the lower part and exploded gold leaf in the central part. The top of the vase is decorated with a floral frieze, part acid-etched, part polychrome enamel. The neck is rubbed with gold (gilding worn).
