MANUFACTURE JULES VIEILLARD & Cie IN BORDEAUX - THE DESIGN OF THE DECORS ATTRIBUTED TO EUGÈNE MILLET (1818-1979) Japanese décor, version with enamels in relief, commonly known as Service Grands oiseaux, designed circa [1882-85]. Suite of 7 plates and 1 cake dish from the eponymous service. Earthenware proofs with polychrome enamel decoration in light relief on an ivory background. Two plates are badly cracked, the cake dish is faienced. Each piece is stamped with the factory's Japanese cachet on the reverse.
