RENÉ BEN LISA (1926-1995)
Trained at the École des Beaux-Arts de Marseille from 1942, René Ben Lisa soon abandoned painting to devote himself fully to ceramics. His creations, with their consistent shapes and apparent simplicity, are in fact designed to fit perfectly in the palm of the hand. Their colorful glazes, inspired by nature, evoke the landscapes of Lozère, which he particularly loves. With his intuitive approach and mastery of form, Ben Lisa's work is both intimate and universal.
