Minor foxing, two plates damaged by serpents. Garde in the process of detaching. First edition illustrated with numerous color plates in Engel boards. Arthur Loth, historian and journalist, discusses the saint's works and actions, as well as his posterity. The work is set in a superb cartonnage with two richly decorated boards and spine.
