Curious best-selling novel by Count Francis de Miollis, published under a pseudonym. The author recounts the adventures of a man who accidentally swallows a diamond and rides around the world to avoid having to undergo surgery to extract it. The story is embellished with numerous cartoon-like illustrations, including 25 full-page ones. Handwritten bookplate on title page naming "Cantacuzène", dated 1909. A good copy of this amusing novel.
