In 58 double leaves of in-8 format (17 x 21 cm) bound by a cord. Continuous pagination from 1421 pp. to 1652 pp. printed on two columns. Some minor foxing and folding, slight tears to edges of first and last leaves. Complete set of 30 issues of the Journal de Paris, the very first French daily newspaper, which appeared from January 1, 1777 to May 17, 1840, then from 1867 to 1876, and finally from 1880 to 1894. In addition to weather forecasts and literary news, the paper covered international events. In this case, December 1808 was marked by the Spanish War, a conflict sparked by French intervention and the challenge to the throne granted to Joseph Bonaparte, Napoleon's brother, as well as by growing tensions between France and Austria.
