Printed on two columns.
Rubbing, three snags on spines, restoration on one spine, scratches and traces of moisture on boards, corners crushed, titles missing, very rare foxing.
Important History of France by the French Jesuit historiographer Daniel, Gabriel (1649-1728), from Clovis to François II. It is illustrated with an engraved frontispiece in volume I, an engraved vignette at the head of the epistle to the king, three engraved vignettes at the beginning of each volume (depicting the Battle of Soissons, King Louis' arbitration between the King of England and his barons, and the Battle of Marignan), numerous ornamented initials, and several maps, including a double-page map showing the division of the French monarchy into different kingdoms.
Period set in need of restoration, otherwise fresh inside.
