Brown marbled calf, engine-turned spine decorated with gilt fleurons and title in gold lettering on red morocco leather, Quimper reading room iron gilt on boards, red edges. Contemporary binding. Approx. 2000 pages, engraved title vignettes, heraldic headbands and ornamented initials. Several folding tables. A 7 cm split on the first cover, the beginning of a split on the second, light spotting and rubbing on the covers, corners bare. Traces of light wetness on the first and last leaves, interior very light everywhere else. A rare and very interesting collection containing all the royal edicts of 1780, preceded by Necker's Compte rendu au roi giving the state of finances for 1780, an index and a chronological table. A fine contemporary copy from the Quimper reading room, with gilt iron on the boards.
