Dark brown jansenist morocco, ribbed spine, gilt lettering on last box, 7 gilt fillets inside, double endpapers, gilt edges on witnesses, cover preserved (Paul Vié). First edition, illustrated with woodcut vignettes in the text based on drawings by Félix Régamey, inspired by compositions from various Japanese albums, and 4 out-of-text chromolithographs representing 10 enamels, executed by Régamey père after cloisonné enamels from the jeweler Martz. A precious copy on China paper from the author's library, with his gilt figure on the spine. This is the second known copy on China paper, after the very precious one also from the author's collection, decorated with enamels and enriched with 10 original gouaches, now in the Musée des Arts décoratifs. A fine copy bound by Paul Vié, very well preserved. Provenance: Philippe Burty, with gilded figure on spine.
