Henri HAYDEN (1883-1970) Portrait of Pierre Célice, 1958 Oil on canvas. Signed, dated and dedicated "à Pierre / affectueusement" lower left. 55 x 46 cm Provenance : Pierre Célice Collection. A painter himself, he was first a pupil, then a friend, and finally, after Henri Hayden's death in 1970, his successor. In accordance with the wishes of Hayden's widow, Josette, Pierre Célice looked after his mentor's work until his own death in 2019. Pierre Célice met Hayden in Montparnasse in 1952.
