Lantern consisting of a globe and a pedestal made of blue-and-white porcelain, China, 20th century The globe features a translucent “rice grain” pattern. Between two floral friezes, it is decorated with three large medallions depicting a fisherman in a lakeside landscape, a bird on a flowering plum tree with butterflies above peonies, and a female rider near a fortress. The pedestal vase, secured to a wooden base and flared at the bottom, is adorned with figures in a landscape. Small flowers decorate the bulging part of the foot, and a frieze of leiwen adorns the upper rim. Height: 32.5 cm One side of the foot is pierced.
