Frame descriptions are from the outside in. Where the country or region is not specified, the country of origin is France. The dimensions of each frame are given at sight, giving exactly the measurements of what would be seen from a painting placed in that frame. As some frames are older, the dimensions of the two opposite sides may differ, in which case the larger of the two is used.
When there is a correspondence with a standard format, it is indicated in brackets: F stands for figure, P for landscape and M for marine. A table on page 56 of the catalog gives standard frame measurements.
In most cases, frames can be used in either portrait or landscape configuration. Where this is not the case, a bullet symbol - precedes the batch number.
The index at the end of the catalog allows you to find batch numbers for a given format.
