Old Master & Modern Prints
Each century has its world renowned artists. Rembrandt's most beautiful engravings, which are old prints in exceptional condition that come from large collections, often reach several hundreds of thousands of euros in auctions.
For the modern and contemporary period, we look for prints by great modern masters accompanied by their initials such as Picasso, Miró, Dalí, Chagall, Matisse, Soulages, etc. They are usually worth a few thousand euros, or even more.
In the international market, foreign buyers are very important because for the past decade, Zao Wou-Ki's engravings, lithographs, and even his paintings, have had their prices skyrocket. They have reached thousands of euros due to increased demand by the Chinese.
The same phenomenon is true for Foujita's prints, whose prices are constantly increasing in Japan. One of his cat themed prints, which is an animal revered in the land of the Rising Sun, can reach 10,000 to 15,000 euros in our current market.
