HUGUETTE BESSONE (BORN 1929) A major figure in Vallauris, Huguette Bessone and her husband Marius began working together as soon as they opened their workshop in 1954. Their production of utilitarian ceramics was soon enriched by refined incisions, cloisonné and geometric decorations in color on neutral backgrounds, before evolving towards a technique of crystallizing glazes with bubbled effects that ensured them success and recognition. At the same time, Huguette pursues her personal work, in which she creates glazed stoneware decorated with geometric motifs.
