Giambattista GIGOLA (Brescia, Italy, 1767 - Tremezzo , Como, 1841 )This artist trained in Italy stayed in Paris between 1802 (the year he exhibited at the Salon) and 1804. He was an intimate of Prince Eugène de Beauharnais, who, once viceroy of Italy, named him his "portrait painter in miniature". Gigola is considered one of the best Italian miniaturists.
