[ FRENCH ACCENT ] [Monume(n)ta ordinis minorum]. S.l.,... - Lot 66 - Ader
[ FRENCH ACCENT ] [Monume(n)ta ordinis minorum]. S.l., s.n., [circa 1506]. - In-4, 207 x 154: ccxcij ff. [sig. aa-zz8 AA-MM8 NN-OO6]. Marbled calf on wooden ais, dishes decorated with a cold-pressed decoration of fillets and oval irons with a vegetal motif framing a thistle in the centre, remnants of brass clasps, spine ribbed, smooth edges (contemporary binding). Third and last single part of this very rare gothic edition. It is a collection of key texts on the history and functioning of the Order of Friars Minor, one of the branches of the Franciscans, created by St. Francis of Assisi (1181-1226). The work is normally divided into 3 treatises, but here we have only the third and last one, containing, among other things, the rules of life and precepts of the Friars Minor. This copy is entirely rubbed in red, in its beautiful and rare cold-stamped contemporary binding, made in Northern or Eastern Europe, probably in Germany. It has 6 pages of an early 15th century manuscript as a guard. The first two parts are missing, as well as the last 28 leaves with the tables. Restored spine, the clasp is missing, some wormholes on the plates, missing caps, slits in the hinges. Sometimes heavy wetness, having damaged several leaves, including the first three and the last one, which are missing with damage to the text. These leaves have been restored.
