Gustave DORÉ (1832-1883). L.A.S., January... - Lot 42 - Ader
Gustave DORÉ (1832-1883). L.A.S., January 1, 1878, to the Reverend Frederick Kill Harford in London; 4 pages in-8, envelope. Beautiful letter to his English friend Frederick Kill Harford (1832-1906), clergyman, poet and musician, pioneer of music therapy. "Good day, Happy New Year and good wishes, dear friend ... But with what deep regret I hear that you are unhappy with your health. Make haste then, dear friend, for your nature is full of renewal and your temperament is naturally better, so make haste to get on the right diet and obediently renounce the causes that may have shaken your health ... you smoke too much ... you eat badly and then I still believe that you are overloading your life with too many multiple occupations that can give you fever and consume your nervous system". Let him come and see it: "I will also give you my little prescription and then I will show you the considerable works that I am planning for the big exhibition. I worked this hyver like a demon. I will send you in a few days photographs of my latest things and especially of one that I believe is destined to make noise in the world"....
