A moulded mahogany chest of drawers, the front opening to six drawers and a leaf framed with ormolu rais-de-cœurs (originally replacing drawers, probably modified in the early 19th century), the white marble top resting on engaged columnar uprights with brass flutes and rings. Stamped by Louis Aubry and JME, cabinetmaker received as master in 1774. Louis XVI period (missing). H : 90 cm, W : 127 cm, D : 60 cm The cabinetmaker Louis Aubry made several chests of drawers with doors, one of which once belonged to the collection of François de Salverte and had the particularity of having sphinx-shaped front legs (Christie's Paris sale on December 16, 2008, lot 234), another one was also sold at Christie's (in London) on June 4, 2014, lot 637
