Maurice OHANA (1913-1992). Autograph music... - Lot 315 - Ader
Maurice OHANA (1913-1992). Autograph music manuscript signed, Concerto for piano and orchestra, 1979-1980; 32 leaves (paginated 2-33) 35 x 27 cm. Manuscript for solo piano and orchestral reduction of the Concerto for piano, premiered in Nantes on June 26, 1981 by Jean-Claude Pennetier (who is the dedicatee) and the Orchestre philharmonique des Pays de Loire conducted by Marc Soustrot. [CCP87, p. 439-441] "In one piece, the Concerto for piano and orchestra particularly highlights the solo instrument, whose sonic and rhythmic resources it explores in depth. Two climates emerge as the work unfolds, climates whose synthesis is familiar to those who have followed the composer's development. On the one hand, here, the Saëta: a sort of incantation addressed to the holy images during the Easter week processions in the South of Spain, and on the other hand, the piano of the masters of classical jazz (Fats Waller and Count Basie in particular)". (Christine Prost). The manuscript is carefully written in Indian ink on tracing paper, signed at the end of the drawing of a radiant sun surrounded by the letters OANA and dated "19.2.81". Discography : Jean-Claude Pennetier, Orchestre philharmonique du Luxembourg, conductor Arturo Tamayo (Timpani 1997).
