[FUR BALL]. Set of 4 programs for the Fur... - Lot 285 - Ader
[FUR BALL]. Set of 4 programs for the Fur Ball. The Fur Ball was a charity event held to raise funds to support learning. It was one of the most popular parties in the 1920s and 1930s, and was held, with some exceptions, at the Opéra Garnier. On this occasion, very beautiful illustrated programs were published, featuring the main Parisian fur merchants with very nice advertisements. The set includes the following 4 programs: - 6th Fur Ball. February 26, 1927. Théâtre des Champs-Élysées. - In-4 oblong, stapled. Illustrations after Asta Tigri for the cover and by CECCHETTO for the inside of the program. Squared paper stuck and torn on the back cover. - 7th Fur Ball on February 21, 1928 at the National Opera Theatre. - In-folio, paperback. This program printed by Tolmer is notably adorned with 9 colored compositions by Louis FERRAND, illustrating a text by Gaston Gerfberr on La Fourrure au théâtre. Attached the prospectus-program of the ball. Some minor wear to the cover. - 8th Ball of the Fur on February 28, 1929 at the National Opera Theatre. - In-4, paperback. Program printed by Tolmer, illustrated with compositions in black on a colored background by Louis FERRAND, accompanying texts by Constantin-Weyer, Jack London, Jérôme and Jean Tharaud, Paul Morand, Rudyard Kipling, Francis de Croisset and Roland Dorgelès. Beautiful silver cover. Some rubbing and wear to the cover. - 9th Ball of the Fur on March 4, 1930 at the Théâtre National de l'Opéra. - In-4, stapled. Program illustrated with humorous compositions in color by Louis FERRAND. Beautiful printing by Tolmer. Wear to the cover.
