Three albums of paisley patterns, probably France, early 19th century The first one, large folio containing painted gouaches on tracings of different sizes, representing paisley patterns, the tracings glued on the pages and some numbered from 321 to 437. Bound in green percaline. Several labels and numbered annotations. 61.2 x 44.6 cm; the second, in-folio sewn titled in ink "Empreintes cachemires", each page with a color printed plate of textile motifs. Cover annotated in blue pencil "65". 49 x 32.5 cm; the third, sewn folio, each page as well as the cover pasted with plates of Kashmir motifs painted with gouache on tracing paper. 43 x 34 cm Very fragile, missing, wet, worn, faded, some restorations. These types of albums collecting oriental motifs were made for French shawl factories in the early 19th century.
