Portrait of Sa'id Khan Bahadur, Mughal India, 19th century Pigments and gold on paper depicting the governor Sai'd Khan Bahadur, recognizable by his beard, wearing an imposing turban with an egret and a medallion painted with the portrait of the Emperor Shah Jahan on the front, embellished with a pearl, and wearing a long khaki green jama with a floral belt tied at the waist. He is standing, facing right, armed with a talwar sword, a katar tucked into his belt and a rondache, birds flying over his head. Painting mounted on an album page with several frames including a beautiful frieze of golden scrolls, the margin speckled with gold. Dim. page : 34,4 x 26,4 cm ; size of painting : 20,2 x 12,8 cm Some polychromy jumps, wetnesses, stains, folds.
