Léa LAFUGIE (1890-1972) Two men under a lantern Pencil, gouache and watercolor on paper. Signed with a stamp in the lower left corner. 49 x 38 cm The scene is located in Nara. A man sitting on a bench, a tobacco pouch in his hand, a pipe in his mouth, a small napkin around his neck, the other, with his hands behind his back, is wearing an apron. They are both wearing black tabi. A metal basin containing bottles is placed in front of the seated figure, and a large metal container behind the two men. This is probably the interior of a small restaurant. One of the two protagonists is named by kanji: 福井良遠 - Fukui Ryôzô.
