MARSEILLE Covered ewer of baluster form and its basin, out of earthenware, handle in volute connected to the lid by a silver chain, the low part of the ewer with profile of shell. Polychrome decoration and gold highlights of scenes of maritime landscapes animated with fishermen on the outer walls of the basin, flowers inside. On the body of the ewer, in a seascape with ruins are five characters including four ladies of quality in period dress, one holding a parasol and a gentleman sitting on a rock. The lid decorated with a gold shell and attributes of fishing and flowers. Gold festoon and highlights on the handle and shells in relief. Manufacture G. Robert XVIIIth century around 1765 - 1770.
