HELLE (André). SCHMITT (Florent). ANDERSEN (Hans Christian). The Little Elf closes his eye. Compositions by André Hellé on a ballet by Florent Schmitt based on a tale by Andersen performed at the Opéra-Comique theater. Edited and printed by A. Tolmer. Paris. [1924]. Cardboard box (20,8 x 17 x 2 cm) covered with bright yellow paper on the edges, green paper for the bottom, inside, stenciled image applied on the cover. It contains two works: a triptych of 24 pp. openwork, hand colored with stencil and an illustrated booklet of 16 pp. in black. Precious treasure box imagined by André Hellé (1871-1945) and realized by Tolmer for the ballet by Florent Schmitt (1870-1958) based on a tale by Andersen. In the first book, decorated with vivid stencils on each page (mid-page and at the foot, in the text typed in pale gray), the paintings of the ballet scroll: a sheet is opened on the left, another on the right and the cut of the page attracts towards the next scene. Twenty-four illustrations for ten tableaux with André Hellé's talent in the stylized representation of the characters and the scenery. The second book reproduces the music of a prelude and nine songs, it is also put in images by Hellé with sixteen compositions in black. Cover stencil with bright colors and box in perfect condition.
