King's bodyguard sword, first model (1814). Handle covered with stingray with silver filigree. Gold brass frame. Guard with 4 branches, with the great arms of France, trilobal quillon, punched. Belted blade with flat back engraved "Manufre Rle du Klingenthal October 1814", with hollow sides engraved with the great French arms, trophies of arms, fleurs-de-lis and "Garde du Corps du Roi". Leather sheath with three brass trims decorated to the line, one punched . Bears a label of origin in skin, from the Aubry collection, marked "This sword belonged to Mr de Chateauneuf godson of Marie Antoinette and the Comte d'Artois, it currently belongs to Mr Bernard Franck. January 1896 . " B.E. Era Restoration.
