First French edition, dedicated to the Count de Maurepas, translated by Denis Diderot, Marc-Antoine Eidous and François-Vincent Toussaint and revised, corrected and expanded by the physician Julien Busson (1717-1781) of this vast dictionary of practical medicine, which includes everything that had been best written on the subject . The original was published in 3 volumes in 1743-1745 and consists of 66 folding plates. The third volume contains 12 plates numbered from 1 to 14, with numbers 6 and 7 and 9 and 10 printed on the same sheet. Holes and wormholes in the spines, very important in the first volume. Back and corner restorations, several caissons and title pieces redone. Numerous works of verse in the inner margin of the leaves of the first volume, with rare attacks on the text, and a few galleries of verse without attack on the text in the other volumes. A few tiny traces of water without gravity. Bottom corners of the guards and the first 11 sheets of the last volume cut out.
