In addition, each page of text is decorated with a hand-coloured floral frame . At the head of the book is a Note for bibliophiles, which provides the following clarification: "The illustrations in this booklet that we are presenting to bibliophiles are an innovation in polychrome printing and are obtained from three marked plates, printed exclusively with the three primary colors, without any retouching, and without any "pose" in the tone print. ...] These illustrations are presented as the first tests of this new conception of the Print. They were executed by Mr. Ch. Coppier with the aim of seeking the widest variety of tones and to give in nine polychrome etchings as many particular and diverse aspects, as well as the illusion and freshness of the original watercolours ". Precious copy, one of the 15 reserved for Mr. A. Girard, enriched with a proof before the letter of the figures on the cover, the title and those in the text, a colour breakdown of all the engravings, and the publication prospectus. It is preserved in a splendid lined binding and mosaic of Cuzin. Perfectly preserved copy despite a few discharges of the engravings.
