Carteret, 1910. - 2 volumes in-8, 212 x 140 : (2 ff.), XXV, 291 pp., 11 plates, illustrated cover; (2 ff.), 286 pp., (1 f.), 10 plates, illustrated cover. Dark blue morocco, triple gilt fillet framing and gilt arms in the centre of the plates, decorated ribbed spine, dark blue morocco frame inside, decorated with gilt fillets and motifs, burgundy moiré silk lining and endpapers, double endpapers, gilt edges on witnesses, cover and spine preserved , case (P. Affolter 1911). Charming and very successful edition, printed in 300 copies and illustrated with 63 compositions by Adolphe Lalauze engraved with chisel and etching by Léon Boisson, including 21 headbands, 21 culs-de-lampe and 21 off-texts. One of the 70 copies on japanese or vellum, this one on japanese, containing 2 states of the engravings, including the one before the letter with remark. Superb copy bound at the time by Affolter, with the arms of Jean Louis Napoleon Eugène Régnier fourth Duke of Massa (1875-1946) and his wife Odette de Boutray (1880-1961 ). Perfectly preserved copy.
