Paul DUPRÉ-LAFON (1900-1971)
Rare and important desk in inverted U shape with two boxes and made of Macassar ebony veneer.
The top and the side parts entirely covered with brown leather (changed) describing, in impression, squares; the top receiving two niches lined with brass and opening by pulls covered with parchment with spherical bronze grips.
The visitor's side, with three belt pulls separated by bronze cabochons with leather in the center, is covered with its original parchment.
The pedestals each open on the working side with three drawers with rounded inner corners and original bronze handles.
The side jambs receive the feet enriched with bronze cylinders forming sabots.
Circa 1950.
Condition and restorations of use, the brown leather parts changed and not original, the parchment of the pulls of the top also changed.
