Claude MONET (1840-1926). L.A.S., Giverny October 28, 1893, to Mrs. widow Flament, in Argenteuil; 1 page and a quarter in-8 in purple ink to Giverny's address, envelope. Letter relating to the Déjeuner sur l'herbe, which Monet had left as a pledge at Flament's, carpenter in Argenteuil, and which he recovered through Gustave Caillebotte. "I apologize for not replying earlier to your letter of September 20th, but I was still thinking of coming to Argenteuil to a friend's house and was counting on seeing you then to finish this old account and to agree with you for the transport of the large canvas you have for me. I hope to come to Argenteuil within a fortnight at the most. If by any chance I am prevented from doing so within this time, I will send you the funds and instruct my friend Mr. Caillebotte to get rid of the canvas...
