Taormina 5 May 1948 (on the back of 4 postcards) to a friend, about a burglary at his home on Avenue Hoche, evoking a "revenge of the Jesuits", a young man "capable of many things", etc. February 2, 1953, to Marcel Thiébaut, thanking him for his article [on Vesuvius to Mount Etna], "not only because he braided me a crown of real laurels, but because he put back on a pedestal the true god of the Muses, so often replaced today by poor horrors.
