MORIN (Louis). The Parisian Sundays. Notes of a decadent. Paris: Librairie L. Conquet, 1898. - In-8, 257 x 174 : frontispiece, (3 ff.), I, 213 pp., (1 f.), printed cover. Havana morocco, triple gilt fillet framing the boards, ornamented spine, gilt lace framing the inside, havana moiré silk lining and endpapers, double endpapers, gilt edges on witnesses, cover and spine preserved (Franz). First edition dedicated to Georges Montorgueil, printed at 250 numbered copies on vélin du Marais. The illustration is composed of 41 original etchings by Auguste Lepère (1849-1918), including a frontispiece, 20 chapter headings and 20 culs-de-lampe. In addition, there are 20 woodcut lettering in bistre. This was the last publication of Léon Conquet who did not see it published since he died on December 17, 1897. The copies are consecutively numbered and initialed by his widow. It is also one of Auguste Lepère's best illustrations and the first book he decorated with original etchings. A very fine copy in full Franz binding. Numbered 48, it is one of the first 50 to contain two states of the illustrations, including the one before the letter. This one has been enriched, separately, with a suite of 8 plates refused. A very well preserved copy.
