PRESIDENTIAL ALBUMS Important album of about 400 black and white photographs. Bound in leather and brown morocco marked in gold on the first cover "Voyages présidentiels" and signed Branger 5 rue Cambon. Album : 34 x 47 cm - Photographs : 12 x 17 cmThis is an exceptional document on the Presidency of the Republic and the French army on the eve of the 1st World War . The photographs detail the different state visits and military reviews of the President. The album begins with the election of Poincarré in Versailles in January 1913 and ends around May 1914. There are various reviews at Vincennes and Longchamp, notably of colonial troops, visits to the provinces (Laval, Montpellier, Bordeaux, Bar le Duc, Le Havre), visits to foreign sovereigns (Alphonse XIII, Christian X, visit to London to King George V). Provenance: General Antoine Beaudemoulin (1857-1927), head of the military house of the Republic and secretary to the Presidency (1913-1914 )
