LORRAIN (Jean) - FABRICE (Delphi). Clair de Lune. Drama in 1 act and 2 tableaux. First performed in Paris at the Concert de l'époque under the direction of Aristide Bruant, December 17, 1903 . - In-12, 190 x 145 : 36 pp, 5 plates, printed cover. Paperback. Very rare first edition, printed in a small number, dedicated to Aristide Bruant. Opposite the title, there is this autograph note by Delphi Fabrice: "This play was only published for the needs of its performance. I illustrated some of them on Japanese paper for a few friends including Lorrain, Méténier and Bruant - naturally. Delphi Fabrice. 1904 ». According to a note found in another copy, only 50 copies of this edition were printed. This one would be one of the 15 enriched with 5 original drawings in coloured pencil on japan, signed by Delphi Fabrice, being part of these "few" mentioned by the latter in his note. It also includes on the false title an original drawing signed by the same, representing Aristide Bruant from behind, accompanied by this dedication: "Souvenir de notre ami Aristide Bruant dans son cabaret". According to a note left by Jacques Crépineau, this is the copy of the writer Jean Galtier-Boissière. Spine detached from the cover. Stain on the top of the cover, the first endpaper and the false title leaf.
