[ Exceptional miniature binoculars through which one can see two Hebrew texts: the Shema and Adon Olam. 1,5 x 1,7 cmRené Dagron (1813-1900) made during the second part of the 19th century small Stanhope lenses on which he fixed microscopic photographs . These lenses were then inserted in various supports, here a horn binocular. It is worth remembering that René Dagron distinguished himself during the siege of Paris in 1870 by sending microscopic correspondence and dispatches that a pigeon could carry under its wing. To our knowledge, this is the only Jewish-themed object he made. These binoculars were probably used as lucky charms or amulets. A very rare object of which there may not be another copy left.
