Large bronze incense burner with brown patina,... - Lot 90 - Ader
Large bronze incense burner with brown patina, Japan, Meiji period (1868-1912 )The incense burner is in the form of a small coloquint placed on a high base in the shape of a three-clawed dragon, coiled on itself and chiseled with scales, the ferocious head with a gaping mouth spitting flames forming the support of the coloquint held by a small spur and whose lid is provided with a small hole. This representation is most probably an interpretation of the dragon in pursuit of the sacred pearl. Traces of cast iron defects in the assemblies. Total height : 53 cm
