ROUSSEL (Raymond). - Lot 165
ROUSSEL (Raymond). Locus Solus. Paris, Alphonse Lemerre, 1914. - In-18, paperback, filled cover. First edition of one of Raymond Roussel's most famous texts, completed on October 24, 1913: "Martial Canterel shows some of his friends around his sumptuous estate Locus Solus . During a long walk, which could evoke a sort of initiatory itinerary, the illustrious scholar (the accomplished figure of the writer, the artist, or more exactly of the genius according to Roussel) proposes in seven stages to the admiration of his friends each of the seven wonders of this world that he has conceived, created and enclosed in his park" (ed. Gallimard) One of the copies on imperial japan, not justified, very well preserved, without the small 16-page booklet entitled "La critique et Raymond Roussel" which is sometimes found bound between the false title and the title.
